Love it! - Table lamp

Love the carved curvy traditional shape of this table lamp, but accented with a white finish and contrasting gold stripes. Traditional meets contemporary in this classic, yet updated and stylish lamp.

Love it! - Nautral zebra rug

Zebra is the one print that just won't die ... though relevant to interior design for centuries, who are we to make it extinct? But what I love about this reincarnation, new from West elm this season is that it comes in a neutral beige for those who love the print but in a subtle shade. It makes the statement most of us love about zebra, but without screaming or being too literal. The best part for me beyond its incredible price, is that it's a loop rug opposed to cut pile so you won't have to contend with the frequent fur balls!

Love it - Koi Lamp on SALE!

OK, so not for everyone, I've been eyeing this Koi table lamp from West Elm for months. There's something so kitsch, yet chic about it if placed in the right space. When decorating with such a unique, niche piece, it's important that it be the only kitsch accent piece in its area, otherwise it could potentially look tacky. So I've loved it for reasons I knew and didn't know, but my frugal self has been waiting for it to go on sale ... and it finally has! I bought it immediately and looks better in person and adds real design interest. Every time I pass it, I can't help but look at it - that's the power of design :)

Project - DIY spray painted cane table

So I bought this cute antique bent-wood and cane side table for $20, but wanted to update it. While it looked great in its original state, I wanted to give it a modern pop of color. So I spray painted the base with Montana spray paint (color- Mango) and then taped off the cane top and used Krylon (color- White gloss) If it was cute before, how cute is it now?!

Market Profile - Farrow & Ball Paint

Farrow & Ball is the paint to the "designers". A higher-end line then the Benjamin Moore standards, they are the paint of choice when designers are looking for that unique "off the beaten path" color. Known for their chalky color selection and lack of primary colors, their price point is a little higher, but well worth it. My favorite color is "Pale Powder", a chalky pale blue, while when I called their Manhattan Soho showroom, they told me their top seller is "Elephant's Breathe", a pale purple-ish/gray neutral. You can order any of their products through their website. Paint delivered to your door - how easy is that!

Love it - Elephant plant stand

Made of Alabaster or what seems like resin, I thought this elephant was too stylish to pass up. According to Indian beliefs, when an elephant's trunk is curled upward, it means good luck - and who doesn't need more of that! It's great looking in person and a really cute decorative addition to my home!

Love it! - Throw pillows

Pottery Barn's textiles get better and better. Not that I don't love their more traditional looks, but they've finally caught on to the fact that people want traditional with a contemporary twist - And these pillow patterns definitely hit the nail on the head!

Love it! - Restoration Hardware floor lamp

So I've been needing a new floor lamp for some time now to replace my old one. I've been looking sporadically through the months, but nothing ever caught my eye - that is until I just saw this one the other day on Restoration Hardware's website. The best part beyond the chic pagoda shade was the fact that it is also on sale! I ordered it immediately. I guess the lesson is to never buy something just to buy it. Wait until you find the piece that truly feels right and it will eventually come to you!

Style Story - Bamboo

From real bamboo to faux, it's the hottest natural material at the moment. Lacquer and carved wood, to metal casts and ceramic replicas, it's a historical material that continues to endure and is duplicated more than any other. Used in the past for its exotic flair to current day for its eco-friendly attributes, bamboo is and always will be a classic addition to any home.

Market Profile - TS and Company

I just had to share with you all one of my favorite new discoveries. TS and Company is an awesome antiques Ebay store that sells amazing pieces from mid-century to more classical European-inspired styles. I've already purchased 5 stunning pieces from their store at the most affordable prices as far as antiques go. It's my favorite new Ebay destination. I know some might feel a little leary about Ebay purchasing, but they are very reputable and provide the best customer service. They are fair, generous and always in contact with you. Any question you might have about a piece, they immediately respond. I couldn't be happier with my dealings with them. With new pieces added regularly, they are definitely worth a look - and FYI, all of the pieces you see here are still for sale so act fast!
