Love it! - Restoration Hardware floor lamp

So I've been needing a new floor lamp for some time now to replace my old one. I've been looking sporadically through the months, but nothing ever caught my eye - that is until I just saw this one the other day on Restoration Hardware's website. The best part beyond the chic pagoda shade was the fact that it is also on sale! I ordered it immediately. I guess the lesson is to never buy something just to buy it. I've noticed these gourd lamps at Pottery Barn and liked them for some time now so finally decided to blog about them after seeing them in the store this past weekend. They truly are just the perfect table lamp if you want a burst of color. Along with their interesting sensual shape, they make a great lighting piece - maybe on a foyer table, desk or your bedroom end tables. Love the color options and definitely worth the $105 price tag. So this is a really cool concept, BuiltBy allows you to customize your own lamps online. Pick your own colors, woods and proportions. Make solids or stripes, but just have fun with it! They have a very user-friendly "click and drag" template on their website - I made my own lamp (see screen-capture below) Custom prices are calculated after finishing your lamp, mine came to $182. And if you can't decide, just choose one of their stocked options. But what impressed me the most was that they are also eco-friendly. They use no-VOC paint (volatile organic compounds) and reclaimed wood - how enlightening!
