Love it! - Drinkware

I'm very picky when it comes to drinking vessels - they need to be functional but design wise, I need to be inspired, especially when entertaining!
Whether you start the day with coffee or tea, this sunny-yellow mug is the best "good morning" you could ask for and your orange juice or water in the cylindrical stem will have you feeling like each sip is a taste of grandeur! (I own a set of them!)

Love it! - Bodum toasters

Known for their French coffee presses, though I don't drink coffee, my friend swears by them - Bodum has expanded their product offerings to toasters oddly enough. Available in four retro-tastic colors, they will make any kitchen counter top sing!

Market Profile - Desserts by Tawny Ong

A dear friend of mine Tawny Ong had the privilege this past week of catering the desserts at Gracie Mansion for Mayor Bloomberg's Lawn Party. Mini cupcakes in a variety of scrumptious flavors and banana pudding too sinful to describe were bigger hits then the food itself! If you live in the New York tri-state area - NY, Connecticut and New Jersey, then you're in luck because she delivers to your front door for any size party or event. Just take a look at her website and extensive menu. Once you try her goods, you'll be a repeat offender for life!

Love it! - Old fashioned timer

Who said a kitchen timer couldn't be stylish? Bored with the standard plastic models we all know from the 80's? Well bring a touch of classic design to your kitchen with this metal and zinc throwback. Like I always say, design is in the details!

Love it! - French tea towels

Bring a punch of color to your kitchen with these traditional tea towels from France. Woven on antique jacquard looms, their patterns and colors celebrate French culture and make the ordinary kitchen towel look drab in comparison. Approximately 21"x29", buy them individually or choose any 4 to be boxed as a set.

Tea Towel 21"x29" $18 each - www.QuelObjet.com
Boxed set of tea towels (any four of your choice) $72

Market Profile - tranSglass Collection

Artecnica, a cutting edge company fusing the gap between technology and everyday objects, teamed with designers Emma Woffenden and Tord Boontje to create this glorious collection of vases, carafes and glasses. If you didn't notice, they're made from recycled bottles! With the help of Aid to Artisans, a non-profit organization, Artecnica has collaborated with Guatemalan craftsmen to create these pieces of art. Due to the nature of the material, you will see slight color and shape variations. tranSglass is now included in the permanent collection of MoMA New York - pure design with a conscience!

tranSglass Collection $40 and up - through www.idChicago.com (they say due to the high demand, shipping takes approx. 1-2 weeks)

Love it! - Triple Timer

Love it! - Pure Komachi Knives

I can officially say I've never seen colored steel knives, can you?! Wow, each knife is color-coded and designed ideally for each food group. Pink is for meat, red is for cheese, blue is for vegetables and so on. The translucent resin handles reveal food shapes to avoid confusion, or cross-contamination for that matter - clever and cute!

Pure Komachi Knives $24.95 each - through The Sharper Image
