Love it! - Pedestal table

As far as pedestal tables go, this is my most ideal in design, color and proportion. I love a classic round pedestal - for dining, entry or bedside table. And they work in any decor from contemporary to traditional.

Love it! - Dresser

Its surprisingly difficult to find chests that are affordable, large and have design interest. Well this curved front by Ballard Designs in antique white and black seem to cover all the bases!

Love it! - Side tables

Who doesn't need an extra side table or two?! Whether you need table tops for drinks, books, a lamp or just a cute tray and bud vase - these two options I adore will do the job!

Love it! - Leather chair

I saw this chair at Restoration Hardware paired with a desk and adored its fully wrapped leather look with belt buckle detailing - very Ralph Lauren! I couldn't stop thinking how amazing it look with age and wear. But don't get stuck on it as a desk chair, I would prefer a pair opposite a sofa - now that's double the pleasure!

Love it! - Armchair

I was recently leafing through a design magazine when I saw a Crate & Barrel advertisement featuring this gorgeous armchair - I took note to blog! Nothing says luxe more than a classic leather armchair silhouette with brass nails and hair-on-hide leather upholstering - don't you just want to curl up! The neutral beige coloring is so soothing to the eye and bound to blend yet be a standout piece in any space!

Love it! - Dining table

As far as round dining tables go, I haven't seen one as chic as this for a looooong time! Did a double take and that's a clear sign I need to blog! LOOOOVE the four turned lacquered legs, a modern take on a traditional silhouette and replacing the usual pedestal base - so clever! For only $399 - ZGallerie.com got it so right with this piece!

Love it! - Console

When I see a piece of furniture and do a double-take, I know it's something I need to blog about! This highly architectural console table has all the dynamics to bring a flat wall to life. With angled geometric supports reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower, the industrial steel piece represents duality in form and function - a complicated yet simple table in which to sit a vase of flowers and catchall bowl.

Love it! - Silver side table

I wish I hadn't reached my max of allotted side tables because I would be adding one more! To incorporate just a touch a glamore to any space, the best is a little shine - for example this silver leaf chinoiserie, cabriole-legged table. It's like adding a little sequins to an outfit!

Nothing says glamour like a bit of gold - add a touch of it in this leather ottoman that can double as a small side table or stool. Move it about your room for that touch a pizazz!

Style Story - West Elm Fall preview

I just popped into my local West Elm and was delighted to see they had on display their Fall preview! Ikat, chevron and totem patterns, hammered metal, woven baskets, trays and boxes with an ethnic and tribal theme - my fave! I had to snap away on my phone's camera to share with you all - I even took the liberty of arranging a pillow display on a sofa - One of which I ended up buying! So make sure to pop by your local West Elm or visit their website to see these goodies and more!

Love it! - Anna Wintour's office chair

So I might be a little obsessed with "The September Issue" - the documentary following Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue magazine and staff in the making of the September 2007 issue, the largest in Vogue history. Owning the DVD, I've watched it about five times and with as many fabulous moments that stand out, there is one design element that I can never seem to ignore - Mrs. Wintour's office chair! As we get a peek into her overwhelmingly cream and traditionally designed office, mouldings and all, I can't help but notice the stark contrast of her industrial steel office chairs - I'm simply perplexed by the choice. While it is classic vintage design i would expect a plush cushioned French or English silhouette with a stunning upholstered pattern - quite the contrary. But the latter works beautifully in modernizing the space, and I suppose that's what makes her the taste maker she is!

Love it! - Woven desk chair

I'm always on the look out for desk chairs that don't look like the typical desk chair. You know what I mean, the standard black plastic or leather executive office styles. Why can't a desk chair just look like a beautiful chair? Well I was roaming my local Pottery Barn this past weekend when I stumbled across this beautiful woven rattan style and can honestly say it was a first - I just had to blog about it!

Love it! - Glass desk

Why settle for a glass, metal or wood desk when you can have all in one! Taking all three materials makes for a well balanced and dynamic piece. The transparent glass top is great for a smaller space creating less visual blockage and the sleek mid century base with just a touch of steel updates this silhouette and gives it a pop of industrial chic!

Love it! - Woven chair

To mix up the textures in your room, a natural woven chair is always a safe bet. Neutral in color, natural in material - it's never offensive to the existing decor in place. And in a recent visit to West Elm I sat in this chair - it was comfortable to boot!

Style Story - Rustic desks

Forget sleek, modern, power desks - take a cue from a simpler time when wood and metal ruled. Rustic and industrial desks are an easy way to warm up a home office and keep you home as cozy and classic as years gone by. Certain designs will never go out of style!
