It's funny how you'll see something and just know it's a find that you have to share! I love design that takes traditional elements and puts a contemporary spin on it - as is the case with these chic pieces. Traditional silhouettes, a classic urn and spindle chess piece - add a high gloss finish and you have the perfect balance of old, seen with a fresh perspective.

Love it! - Form and function
These three standout pieces from Williams-Sonoma Home not only epitomize stylish design, but also "form and function." Shapes, silhouette, curves and texture are embodied in their design, all while serving a key purpose beyond the decorative.

Love it! - Pagoda Tulpiere
I'm still holding on to the Summer so for a gorgeous centerpiece for a foyer table, dining table or even dresser top, this white ceramic Tulpiere from Gumps.com will leave a most memorable statement. With a classic tiered pagoda silhouette in zen-white, it creates a perfect canvas for a burst of Summer color!

Love it! - Restoration Hardware lighting sale!
One thing I know for sure is the high quality of Restoration Hardware's lamps, as I own a few myself. Another thing I can always count on is their seasonal lighting sale and by looks of it, you can find these faves and many more styles from floor lamps to chandeliers for a fraction of their original price. With their classic designs, they blend seamlessly into any style decor. Gosh, if only I could find another spot to add a not so needed, but much wanted extra lamp!

Love it! - Pineapple lamp
I've been seeing pineapples everywhere, but usually used in a more traditional manner. So when I saw this fun and modern interpretation, it really jumped out. As prevalent as the pineapple motif is, the lamp has other great design elements - bold color, banding on the shade, so the design is really about the whole lamp. Somehow the pineapple becomes less literal and much more digestible!

Market Profile - Monticello
Monticello, the estate of third President Thomas Jefferson(1801-1809) also the principal author of The Declaration of Independence (1776) is now a non-profit museum. The organization, with no Federal funding purchased the estate to maintain his home and land in it's original glory. Located in Charlottesville Virginia, about half a million people visit Monticello each year. The products they sell are either reproductions, or in the same style of Jefferson's own possessions. Old world meets modern day in these historical throw-backs.

Love it - Horchow 30% OFF SALE
I'm still amazed by the continuous sales - though it's great for shoppers, I am left feeling sad for the fate of the retailers. For us to benefit, they are obviously suffering. Regardless, Horchow is currently having a DOUBLE SALE for a limited time, additional 30% off of select sale merchandise. Here are some of my faves!
